When a still photo of an NFL hit is taken at the right moment, the results can be jarring
This one that shows New England safety back Devin McCourty the instant he laid the wood on Bills wide receiver Brandon Tate Sunday, causing him to leave the game with a concussion, is a prime example.

It's enough to make you do a double take. Is that really Tate's face contorted like a spooky Halloween mask? Or is that just some crazy, photoshopped image?
Unfortunately, that's really Tate's face, and it would have been even more shocking to see him walk away from the hit.
