To celebrate Pedro Martinez's induction in the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, we take a look back to one of his best games of all time: an absolute domination of the New York Yankees.

The day was September 10, 1999 and the Red Sox and Yankees were battling it out for the top of the American League East. Like many times in those days, Boston turned to Pedro Martinez to try and get the victory.

Martinez was nearly perfect, only allowing one hit — a homer to Chili Davis — over nine innings while striking out 17 batters. Martinez struckout the side three times, in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings. As Martinez never recorded a perfect game or no-hitter, this can be argued as one of his best games of all time.
