After a big week of controversy for widespread demonstrations during the national anthem in the NFL, it appears one high school is preparing to take drastic action if any of their players do the same.

In a letter obtained by CBS, Parkway High School in Louisiana has said that players that make any demonstrations during the national anthem will face "loss of playing time and/or participation as directed by the head coach and principal". The letter also mentioned that removal from the team for "continued failure to comply".

The full letter:

To: Student Athletes and Parents

The LHSAA (Louisiana High School Athletic Association) allows school principals to make decisions regarding student participation in the National Anthem while competing in athletic contests and games. Parkway High School requires student athletes to stand in a respectful manner throughout the National Anthem during any sporting event in which their team is participating. Failure to comply will result in loss of playing time and/or participation as directed by the head coach and principal. Continued failure to comply will result in removal from the team. Parkway High School is committed to creating a positive environment for sporting events that is free of disruption to the athletic contest or game.

Sincerely,
Waylon Bates
Principal
Parkway High School

The letter comes after several NFL teams showed some sort of demonstration following comments from U.S. President Donald Trump. The protests involved some teams kneeling, others locking arms in unity, while a few declined to take the field at all for the pregame anthem ceremonies.

Parkway High School is home to two of the top recruits in the 2018 class. Five-star Terrace Marshall is ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver, while TCU commit Justin Rogers is ranked as the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.
