After earning freshman All-American honors during the 2016 college football season, Ole Miss defensive tackle Benito Jones is beginning to live up to the considerable hype that accompanied him to Oxford. After all, Jones arrived as a five-star prospect according to most prospect evaluators and it was easy to see the talent.
Unfortunately, the start of his sophomore campaign in the SEC is off to a rocky start, as Jones was taken to the hospital as a result of a hit sustained in practice on Saturday. On the bright side, though, a spokesperson for the Ole Miss program indicated that Jones never lost "feeling or movement in his extremities."

For further confirmation of a more positive report, Jones' mother reportedly indicated that the talented defender is "doing fine" at this stage.

This is certainly a situation worth monitoring in the immediate future, as it is quite scary that Jones had to be taken to the hospital in the first place. With that said, the news appears to be quite good with all things considered and that is a very encouraging development for everyone involved.
