Ohio State has enjoyed a long tradition of success and, for the most part, the program is fairly traditional from a perspective of uniforms. However, the Buckeyes haven't been overly shy about rocking alternate jerseys during the Urban Meyer era, and another instance of that trend will be taking place on Saturday when the team visits Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners.
The alternate jerseys were revealed Ohio State's Snapchat account on Monday (h/t Land-Grant Holy Land):
These aren't exactly new from Ohio State, though, as the team was wearing them during a 42-13 shellacking of Michigan just 10 months ago. That bit of trivia will certainly be encouraging to the Ohio State faithful and, prior to that, the Buckeyes also donned these particular garments during the famous College Football Playoff victory over Alabama at the end of the 2014 campaign.
Wearing different jerseys has become a vogue way of reaching out to recruits and, generally, creating additional buzz in advance of a big game. There is nothing to really knock from Meyer and his staff here, but in the end, Ohio State needs to perform at a top level on the field in order to knock off a quality opponent in a hostile environment.
