"We are disappointed in Mac's actions and this is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players. Mac has been suspended from Saturday's game against LSU. We will further evaluate what actions we need to take moving forward so we can correct the behavior. It is a privilege to represent the University of Alabama and there are certain responsibilities that go along with that privilege."

Jones was arrested on Friday morning after a minor car accident in Tuscaloosa.

From AL.com:

The 19-year old Jones was arrested after police responded to a car accident involving two vehicles at about 2:14 a.m. Officers discovered that Jones was intoxicated and arrested him for driving under the influence after performing a field sobriety test, said Tuscaloosa Police Department spokesperson Teena Richardson.

Jones, 19, was also charged with possessing fake identification. Jones has reportedly been released on a $1,300 bond.

Jones is Alabama's third string quarterback, being starter Jalen Hurts and five-star freshman Tua Tagovailoa. Jones was a highly-rated three-star recruit of the 2017 class, ranking as the No. 18 pro-style quarterback according to the 247Sports Composite.

Without Jones, Hurts and Tagovailoa will be the only scholarship quarterbacks available for Alabama against LSU.
