Louisville and its basketball program has been under scrutiny by the NCAA for the escort scandal that was uncovered in 2015. It's been almost a full two years since then, but there is finally some punishment coming for the school and head coach Rick Pitino.
NCAA hits Rick Pitino with a 5-game suspension from ACC games, and Andre McGee with a 10-year show cause penalty.

The program was also given four years of probation.

Andre McGee is believed to be the ring leader of the scandal and left the school shortly before the allegations were levied against him. Katina Powell is one of the women involved and was the one who brought the whole thing to light in a book she wrote about all the alleged activities that took place.
Those first five ACC games for Louisville are not yet known, but to lose a coach like Pitino for any stretch during conference play is going to hurt and could even decide the team's fate, at least within the conference.
