We knew all along that Marc Gasol had a strong chance to stay in Memphis and it looks like the center will definitely be staying there now. He has agreed to a deal worth over $100 million over the course of five years with an early-termination option after the fourth year in 2018-19.
He averaged a career-high 17.4 points with 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 81 games this past season while leading the team to the playoffs where the Grizz lost to the champion Warriors. Grizzlies owner Robert Pera went to Spain last week to talk to the big man and it's likely that they waited this long to make an announcement because they wanted to see how the market would set with LaMarcus Aldridge, the Lopez twins, and DeAndre Jordan.
