Kentucky player caught doing the most despicable thing and somehow won't be suspended

Kentucky has decided not to suspend linebacker Jordan Jones, who spit in the direction of Southern miss fans, flipped the middle finger repeatedly and held up a trash can toward the stands while yelling at the home crowd during Saturday's victory over the Golden Eagles in Hattiesburg, Miss. Instead, the linebacker will face "significant discipline by coach Mark Stoops," sources confirmed to SEC Country.

"We were aware of it and it has been addressed internally," UK spokesman Tony Neely said Friday morning.

Kentucky defeated Southern Miss, 24-17, during its season opener, which saw Jones record five tackles. Last season, he finished third among SEC players with 109 total tackles and sixth in tackles for loss (15.5) as a sophomore.

Jones has gained a notorious reputation during his time at Kentucky. Stoops has previously described the linebacker as being "wired very different."

Jones, who typically declines interview requests from media members, did participate in one late last season by whispering his answers into the ear of fellow linebacker Kash Daniel and was also held out of Kentucky's spring game this year for missing a meeting.

Safety Mike Edwards also defended his teammate adding "people say he's just wild ... but that's what we need actually." Daniel said boundless — and sometimes unrestrained — energy is "just how Jordan's wired" but "he doesn't cause any distractions."
