Kentucky is a recruiting powerhouse and proved it yet again this year with a top-2 recruiting class —- the Wildcats are either No. 1 or 2 depending on which service you look at. This year was particularly nice as four of Kentucky's five recruits were in the top 15 of 247Sports' recruiting rankings.
UK's highest ranked recruit in the final rankings was No. 6 De'Aaron Fox (SG) followed by Malik Monk at 10 (G), Bam Adebayo at 12 (PF) and Wenyen Gabriel at 14 (PF). Kentucky's fifth recruit —- Sacha Killeya-Jones —- was ranked 24 by the service giving Kentucky a fifth of the entire top 25.
Impressive stuff and a much needed recruiting class considering all that coach Cal is losing this season. Skal Labissiere, Tyler Ulis and Jamal Murray all went to the NBA Draft while Alex Poythress is graduating. This should have Kentucky poised for huge expectations this season along with Duke who is competing for the top spot in this recruiting with the 'Cats.
