Justyn Ross is a tremendous prospect and the hype machine is really rolling around the five-star wide receiver from Phenix City (Ala.) at the moment. With that in mind, the rising senior caught up with Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover and made an interesting reference that has the recruiting world buzzing.
The interview included a prompt about schools coming after him the hardest and Ross indicated that Auburn and Clemson fit that description. It is no surprise that Auburn, who many see as a front-runner for Ross, would make the list but Clemson is an interesting addition in that way.
When asked about what Ross was looking for in his college choice, he said, "A place where I can be comfortable, a place where I can come in and compete for a position, and the quarterbacks."
The 6'4, 197-pound prospect ranks as the No. 24 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite and that is good enough to land him as the No. 5 wide receiver in the nation and the top prospect from the state of Alabama. Programs coming after Ross may not get an answer for a long while but, for now, we know who is really pursuing him at a high level.
