Watkins initially planned to announce his commitment to either Alabama or LSU on January 4. However, delaying his decision allowed the Gators to work their way back into consideration.
The Clermont native committed to LSU early, but flipped to Florida State and later Texas before once again reopening his recruitment.
Watkins ranks as the No. 21 wide receiver, No. 23 player from the state of Florida and the No. 115 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
