Jim Harbaugh is not afraid of confrontation. Just ask former Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz.
After Harbaugh's San Francisco 49ers defeated the Lions 25-19 in 2011, he aggressively shook Schwartz's hand at midfield and slapped him hard on the back. The two coaches had to be separated at midfield.

Harbaugh was asked about the incident on a recent episode of Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take, and he admitted the incident was his fault.
"I went in too hard on that, too aggressive on the handshake," Harbaugh said. "We've talked, and we're good. We're back to friends.
"There is a protocol in a postgame handshake. I've been there as the winner. I've been there as loser. You just, 'Nice game,' then go celebrate. Premature celebration there, in the wrong."

Harbaugh hasn't had an incident quite like that since taking over at Michigan, but he did have a similar incident when he was the head coach at Stanford. Harbaugh went for a two-point conversion against USC despite being up nearly five touchdowns, and former USC coach Pete Carroll asked him, "what's your deal?" when the two met at midfield.
Harbaugh is no stranger to conflict, so perhaps someone will ask him to explain that situation in a future interview.
