ESPN's Jay Williams predicts who will win the National Championship, and it isn't Duke

ESPN College GameDay made its way to Lexington for the first show of the 2017-18 season and infamous Duke alum Jay Williams made a bold prediction. He believes that Purdue, not Duke or Kentucky or Villanova or North Carolina will win the national title game.

Purdue does have a great mix of upperclassmen with poise and underclassmen who have talent. They are a top-20 scoring team, averaging over 84 points a game while they are also the No. 11 team in scoring defense, holding teams to under 63 points a game.

They have four guys averaging double figures in scoring and they are third-best three-point shooting team in the country, making just under 43 percent of them. So it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that Purdue can pull it off and frankly, they would deserve it considering how they've built the team up over the last few seasons.
