Family ties can be strong in recruiting, and that looks to be the case here, as four-star linebacker Josh Ross — brother of now former Michigan linebacker James Ross — announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Monday.

Ross (6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Southfield, Mi.) is one of the top recruits available at linebacker in 2017. Ross is a consensus four-star recruit, and is ranked in the Top 10 at his position by most — if not all — major recruiting services.
Ross also held offers from LSU, Ohio State, and Notre Dame, teams that have been near the top of recruiting for the past several years. He becomes the seventh commitment of Michigan's 2017 class, which was ranked 12th in the nation before Ross's commitment.
