Four-star defensive tackle Alim McNeill has a top three list of Florida State, Virginia Tech and N.C. State. It seems there's a clear leader though as he described it to Scout. The North Carolina native doesn't have the Tar Heels on his list, but is favoring another in-state team:
"N.C. State is my leader. They're very far ahead. It's just the people there, especially (strength and conditioning) coach (Dantonio) Burnette. I also like the culture they're building and the environment they have is really great. They've also been stressing homegrown players...keeping in-state guys at home."
He also mentioned he will be taking official visits to those three schools and wants to make his commitment during the second week of the regular season on Sept. 9. The 6'2", 272-pound is ranked as the No. 21 DT in the class of 2018 and the No. 2 at the position in the state as well as the No. 10 recruit in the state according to Scout.
He also has offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Louisville, Michigan and Tennessee among others.
