The top recruit for the state of Alabama in 2017 apparently has no qualms about taking his talents elsewhere.
According to the Detroit Free Press, four-star wide receiver Nico Collins (6-foot-5, 195 pounds, Pinson, AL) confirmed at the Elite 11 that the Michigan Wolverines are indeed the leader for his recruitment.
"They've always been the leader," Collins said.
Collins isn't completely sour on the South, though. The tall wide receiver also says that Alabama and Georgia are also high on his list, leaving a three-team mega recruiting battle between Kirby Smart, Nick Saban, and Jim Harbaugh.

Collins is the No. 1 rated recruit in Alabama according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 76 recruit overall for the 2017 recruiting class. He also has offers from Auburn, Clemson, and Florida State, among others.
