Former Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich visited Tennessee's bowl practice before they played Nebraska in the Music City Bowl, and there is speculation he could join the Vols' staff soon.

Tennessee might look to bring Helfrich on as a co-offensive coordinator and/or quarterbacks coach. Current offensive coordinator Mike DeBord had success with the Vols' offense for most of this season, but Helfrich's presence could help in developing quarterbacks.
Coach Butch Jones has suggested there will be staff changes for the Vols this offseason, and adding Helfrich could help with the passing game next season. Of course, with Chip Kelly on the market now, Helfrich could wait and join him as his offensive coordinator wherever Kelly lands next. Helfrich was Oregon's offensive coordinator under Kelly from 2009-2012.

Tennessee loses quarterback Josh Dobbs to graduation, but they still have talent returning on offense. The Volunteers were the favorites to win the SEC East this season, but they finish 9-4 and lost the division race to Florida for the second straight season.
