Usually you don't see Wildcat-on-Wildcat crime unless two alumni in the NBA are forced to face off. Well, it looks like one former Kentucky assistant and Director of Basketball Operations could be in serious trouble for defrauding a couple of former Wildcats. Leon Smith has been charged by a grand jury for defrauding nearly $1.3 million from multiple professional athletes, according to Greg Kocher of the Lexington Herald Leader.

The scam reportedly involved former 'Cats in Josh Harrellson and Darius Miller as well Lexington native and current Utah Jazz guard Shelvin Mack. Smith offered financial services through a few of his companies and therefore had access to the bank information of those players.
Smith served in his role at Kentucky from 2001 to 2006 under head coach Tubby Smith. He also served as an assistant athletic director from 2006 to 2009. The Louisville native was a wide receiver at Kentucky from 1993 to 1995. Smith could go to prison for 20 years while also facing a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
