Maryland did break .500 on the 2016 season, but they suffered a massive loss on Monday, as five-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh announced his decommitment from the Terrapins.

Kaindoh (6-foot-6, 235 pounds, Bradenton, FL) is a composite five-star recruit according to 247Sports, and he is ranked as the No. 2 strongside defensive end in the entire 2017 recruiting class. Kaindoh — who committed to the Terps back in April — was the crown jewel of D.J. Durkin's first class at Maryland, but now that jewel is likely heading elsewhere.

As for where Kaindoh could be going, the timing of his decommit could be very telling about that. The decommit came just after Kaindoh made an official visit during Penn State's 45-14 win over Michigan State, and Kaindoh has an official to Georgia coming up this weekend. Kaindoh also took an official visit to Florida State earlier in the year.
Kaindoh had previously listed Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Penn State has his Top 4 before the shocking commitment to Maryland in April. All of those schools could still be in play for the five-star.
