The Iron Bowl has always provided not only classic games between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers, but classic performances as well. Some of the most memorable Iron Bowls were because of a memorable performance put on by some of the best college football players of all-time.
Here are few classic performances that you may have forgotten over the years.
5. Derrick Henry, 2015

Derrick Henry, literally, ran away with the Heisman Trophy back in 2015, and his masterpiece that season was his performance against Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Henry rushed 46 times for 271 yards in that game and sealed the victory with a touchdown. Two weeks later, he brought the Heisman back to Tuscaloosa.
4. Bo Jackson, 1983

Bo's performance in the 1983 Iron Bowl gave us a preview of what was to come as he dominated the Crimson Tide ending Auburn's losing streak to the Tide and sending coach Paul "Bear" Bryant out a loser in his final Iron Bowl as head coach of Alabama. Jackson would go on to win the Heisman Trophy a few years later, but lost his last two Iron Bowls in 1984 and 1985.
3. Ken Stabler, 1967
For older Alabama fans, one of the most memorable performances by a player in this game was by Ken Stabler in the 1967 Iron Bowl. The Snake earned that nickname in this game as he ran for a 53- yard touchdown in the rain and mud at Legion Field. That play became legendary in Alabama football lore as Alabama held off Auburn to win the game 7-3.
2. Shaun Alexander, 1999
Alabama has always had great running backs, but one in particular that fans forget about is Shaun Alexander. Alexander's performance in the 1999 Iron Bowl was probably the greatest of all-time by any running back in this game, including Heisman winners Bo Jackson and Derrick Henry. Alexander gashed Auburn for 182 yards, including a monster second half going off for 100 yards and three touchdowns. This also marked the first time the Crimson Tide won in Auburn.

Cam Newton's one and only Iron Bowl was one of the most memorable in not only Iron Bowl history, but Auburn football history as well. Down 24-0, Newton would lead the Tigers back in the second half and the Auburn would win that game 28-27, scoring all four touchdowns for Auburn in the win. That Tigers' comeback is still the largest in Iron Bowl history.
