Hammond told 247Sports earlier this month that he planned on reopening his recruitment during the Future 50 underclassmen event before making his decision official on Friday.
"I'm kind of iffy-iffy right now, I'm thinking about opening back up my process," he said. "I committed early and want to explore my options a little more. Just to see what's out there.
"I'm still committed right now but later on in January I might open it back up."
The Bradenton native ranks as the No. 3 offensive guard, No. 8 player from the state of Florida and the No. 62 overall prospect for the 2019 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247 Sports Composite.
Alabama's 2019 class currently has four commitments and ranks No. 6 overall in the 247Sports Team Composite.
