Since 2010, the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys — two NFC rivals — lead the NFL in one category — and it's nothing to be proud of.
According to ESPN, the Redskins and Cowboys lead the league in drug-related suspensions since 2010 — the Redskins with 13 and the Cowboys with 12. Three teams — the New York Giants, the Carolina Panthers and the Seatlle Seahawks — are tied for third, with 11 each.
Ravens tight end Darren Walker was suspended on Friday for one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy — the second time he's been suspended in two years. Running back Kenneth Dixon is also serving a four-game suspension to open the season. ESPN ran down the other player suspended — WR David Reed (2011), DE Ryan McBean (2012), CB Asa Jackson (2012, 2013), S Christian Thompson (2013), DT Haloti Ngata (2014), S Matt Elam (2015), TE Nick Boyle (2015, 2016), S Will Hill (2016) and Dixon (2017).
Walker's suspension pushed the Ravens to the No. 1, just ahead of Dallas and it's 12 suspensions. NFL research listed a few of the more notable Cowboys who have been suspended over the last two seasons alone.
