Over a decade ago, Chris Johnson was the fastest man to ever run in the NFL Combine. He had just ran a 4.24 40-yard dash to tie Rondel Menendez's all-time mark, and it didn't look like anyone was ever going to top that time. Well, someone did, but the former All-Pro running back doesn't believe it, not even for a split second.
After Johnson tied the record in 2008, Washington wide receiver John Ross topped the record with a time of 4.22 in 2017. It was an impressive feat, no doubt, and one that earned him a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but there are several people who aren't convinced that happened, especially Johnson.
This isn't a former Pro Bowl running back angry someone broke his record. No, the 5-foot-11 lightning fast Johnson just wants to set the record straight and talked about it during an appearance on Simms and Lefkoe.

For those who love sports conspiracy theories, this one is phenomenal. There's even video proof to support the new 40-yard-dash record might be a hoax. Ironically enough, it was even tweeted by the NFL.

If the video is accurate, and the yellow line was truly pacing CJ2K, there is no way Ross's time eclipsed the 4.24 mark at the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It's not even close to Johnson's record.

Johnson, the former East Carolina product and No. 24 overall pick, enjoyed a nice career with the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals. He even holds the NFL record for yards from scrimmage in a season (2,509) and was selected to three Pro Bowls, while Ross has struggled to make a name for himself in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals.
