
Derek Mason and the Vanderbilt Commodores just earned a huge commitment from a top prospect in their backyard.
Four-star receiver Camron Johnson announced his commitment to Vanderbilt on Friday. Johnson is from Brentwood, Tennessee, which is a suburb of Nashville.

Johnson is the No. 8 player from the state of Tennessee in the Class of 2018 according to 247Sports. He is also the No. 47 receiver in his class.
Johnson was also considering offers from Auburn, LSU, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee.
Vanderbilt's recruiting class moved up to No. 36 in the country and seventh in the SEC. Derek Mason and Co. have had a great week on the recruiting trail after landing Johnson and top-10 kicker Javan Rice.
Johnson is the second four-star recruit in Vandy's current class that consists of eight prospects. The other four-star recruit is linebacker Alston Orji.
