Florida State's offensive line was already under stress and scrutiny this season after the amount of hits and sacks that quarterback Deondre Francois took last season. It needed all the depth it could get after losing its best piece in Roderick Johnson to the NFL Draft this year as well. It seems the Seminoles are in no such luck as redshirt freshman center Baveon Johnson will miss reportedly the entire season.
Tomahawk Nation is reporting that the former top center in the class of 2016 will miss the season because of a meniscus injury. It's a similar injury to what kept Derwin James from competing last season. If he's going to be missing the season, it sounds like they are taking a similar approach as well by repairing the entire meniscus rather than shaving some down and taking the short-term fix.
Johnson was the top center in his class, No. 5 recruit in Florida and No. 44 overall recruit according to 247Sports Now, most of the center responsibilities will fall to redshirt-junior Alec Eberle, redshirt-junior Corey Martinez and redshirt-freshman Andrew Boselli.
