Nation's No. 6 ranked OLB Markail Benton announces verbal commitment

Four-star linebacker Markail Benton (6-foot-1, 237 pounds, Phenix City, Al.) has made his decision about where he's going to college. The nation's No. 6 ranked outside linebacker announced his verbal commitment on Friday afternoon. Benton chose Alabama over Auburn and Florida State. Benton gave some insight into what made the Tide his No. 1 choice.

The nation's No. 6 ranked outside linebacker announced his verbal commitment on Friday afternoon. Benton chose Alabama over Auburn and Florida State. Benton gave some insight into what made the Tide his No. 1 choice.

"When I took visits to Alabama last time, I had a great time at the camp," Benton said via the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. "They have great coaches and great facilities. I mean you can't better coaching than Alabama with coach Saban."

Benton had chopped his list down to three schools at the beginning of June. He has 19 scholarships 19 offers from a number of big time schools including Clemson, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Michigan.
